Qlikview Installation

Step 1:- Take the latest version of the Qlikview from Qliktech site and install the Qlikview by double click on the Qlikview setup

Double click on Setup.exe and the setup will start.

Step 2:- Then click on the Next button to go the next window

Click on Next Button

Step 3:- Then select Region of your desire location.

Select Region -> United States

Step 4:- After that select I accept the license agreement option for the next step

Step 5:- After the 4 step select Installation folder location for the installation files to be copied.

Select the Installation folder location.

Step 6:- Then select the setup type option on the setup and select Complete from the option.

Step 7:- Then click on the Install button for installation begin.

Click on Install to begin installation.

Step 8:- And the be calm for installation to be complete

Installation Process started.

After all this steps when Installation completed you can see the Front End View of the QlikView  Desktop Application.

Rank in the Qlikview

Rank in Qlikview is used for make ranks or represent rank for the given rows weather they calculate in any order by the aggregated Sum or Count of the calculation expression of any metrics. Rank is mainly used with the aggregated functions in this post i explain about the Top N rank findings in the front end.

Step1:- Suppose we have some Sales Representative data in our application and we can loaded into Qlikview file, have a look the data set.

Step2:- Now from this data we are going to find the Top 10 Sales representative performance then we add the calculated dimension

Note:- Here i  explain a way with the calculated dimension we have other ways also.

Step3:- And do not forget to select Suppress When value is Null option from options why this selection requires because the above expression only finds the TOP N then others will shown as NULL values for hiding we are used this option.

Step4:- And then select Sales Expression as Sum(Sales)

Expressions:-

Take Straight table chart for data representation and add

Dimension:- [Sales Represenative]

Expression :- Rank(Sum(Sales)) for Rank identification

Expression:- Sum(Sales)

And the final data you get in the straight table with three fields

Advantages:-

  1. While using Rank we can get easily give good user interface.
  2. For Top or Worst dimensional limits we can show in the charts.
  3. Get performance of any metric values in any charts (Bar, Line, Straight, Pivot) charts.

Qlikview Installation

Take the latest version setup file of the Qlikview from Qliktech site and install the Qlikview Personal Edition by double click on the Qlikview setup file.

Steps for Installation:-

Step1:- Download the latest version of the Qlikview Desktop this needs to give your details on the site.

Step2:- Select the setup type weather it is 32-Bit or 64-Bit depends on the hardware that you use or want to install on the server system or may be laptops and Personal Computers.

Step3:- Then run the setup by double click and install the Qlikview. This copy of Qlikview setup file is personal edition and which is works same as licenses copy. If you have license credential then provide that also then your Qlikview desktop will be license copy.

Max Functions returns the maximum numeric value of expression encountered over a number of records as defined by a group by clause. Rank defaults to 1 which corresponds to the highest value. By specifying rank as 2 the second highest value will be returned. If rank is 3 the third highest value will be returned and so on.

There is a special function for advanced aggregations:

aggr ([ distinct | nodistinct ] [{set_expression}]expression {, dimension})

Advanced Aggregation is used to returns a set of values of expression calculated over dimensions. The result can be compared to the expression column of a ‘local chart’, There is a special function for advanced aggregations: aggr ([ distinct | nodistinct ] [{set_expression}]expression {, dimension}) Returns a set of values of expression calculated over dimensions. The result can be compared to the expression column of a ‘local chart’, evaluated in the context where the aggr function resides. Each dimension must be asingle field. It cannot be an expression (calculated dimension). If the expression argument is preceded by the nodistinct qualifier, each combination of dimension values may generate morethan one return value, depending on underlying data structure. If the expression argument is preceded by the distinct qualifier or if no qualifier is used at all, each combination of dimension values will generate only one return value. By default, the aggregation function will aggregate over the set of possible records defined by the selection. An alternative set of records can be defined by a Set Analysis expression. By using this function in Add calculated dimension… it is possible to achieve nested chart aggregation in multiple levels. See also Nested Aggregations and Related Issues. When used in chart expressions it is possible to achieve Sum of Rows in Pivot Tables.
