Take the latest version setup file of the Qlikview from Qliktech site and install the Qlikview Personal Edition by double click on the Qlikview setup file.
Steps for Installation:-
Step1:- Download the latest version of the Qlikview Desktop this needs to give your details on the site.
Click on this URL for download of the latest edition of the Qlikview Download QlikView Desktop Here
Step2:- Select the setup type weather it is 32-Bit or 64-Bit depends on the hardware that you use or want to install on the server system or may be laptops and Personal Computers.
Step3:- Then run the setup by double click and install the Qlikview. This copy of Qlikview setup file is personal edition and which is works same as licenses copy. If you have license credential then provide that also then your Qlikview desktop will be license copy.
Master Calendar Creation in Qlikview
In my early post I explain about the Master Calendar Creation in this post I explain about how to identify the master calendar creation date and then create the master calendar script in the qlikview edit script. Because in the qlikview dates field has very important to visualize any data model or any business and it has specific reason for creation of different date fields. This date fields provide a filter or a dimension to get the Metric value in the data model for better visualize. So have a look for steps how to create the master calendar.
Ex:- Year, Month, Quarter, Week, Week Day, Day, In Year, YTD, MTD etc
First identify which is transactional date in your data model for which you want to create the master calendar ans which is based on this date.
In this step we need to find the minimum and Minimum and Maximum date in the model and then load into the table and from table we have to use Peek() function for capture into the variables for calendar creation.
Minimum Date Table Script
Master Calendar Table
Maximum Date Table Script
Min and Max Date Variables
Then create the rows based on the Min and Max dates into the Qlikview
And then generate full Master calendar based on this rows into proper date formats
Keep following and give feedback, And thanks for good feedback and suggestion.
Qlikview date and time functions has very important roles in Qlikview development and it is widely used in the data model creation in the Qlikview development. While creating the fact tables or dimension table creation we need to check the date fields if there is no existence of proper date dimensions then we create the Master calendar for more on master calendar creation you can see this post Master Calendar in Qlikview.
This function returns the day value of the date field in the data model.
Day([Date field of Transaction])
Day( ‘1990-12-25’ ) this returns 25
Day(Now()) this returns the Day value of the current time stamp value.
Day(Today()) this returns the Day value of the current today date.

Concatenatation in QlikView
Concatenate functionality in QlikView is the load script and it is used for data modelling. When we load two tables in the Qlikview and if there is same number of the fields, then the table gets loaded as single table and they are concatenate to each other.
And if they are not in the same field then we have to force concatenate to them then this concatenate is called Forced Concatenate. In this we get single table but if field not matched then its data is also not matched then in this we get blank space in the columns.
There are different ways of the concatenation in Qlikview data modelling.
- Forced Concatenate
- No Concatenate
As explain told you the term concatenate is use in the data modelling and it is the strong functions which can used for table concatenation so it is also the way to make perfect data model and to remove synthetic keys from the tables.
